The mission of the Science is Fun Family is to enhance student interest in and their self-efficacy and abilities associated with science, as well as their perceptions of science and who can be a scientist. The diverse high school STEM role models that present Science is Fun illustrate that everyone can be a scientist!
The Science is Fun Family
Science should be fun! Students love exploring the world they live in. The Science is Fun Family is a student-centered, learning community that focuses on having fun with science! Scores of current and former AP Chemistry students volunteer as Science is Fun Interns to present fun and exciting science explorations to K-8th grade students at their schools, district-wide events and beyond, greatly enhancing their oral communication skills in the process. The Interns' excitement when they return says it all. They love reminiscing about their students' excitement and their interactions. "Wow! Is that magic?" "No. It's Science!" Indeed, Science IS Fun. All we have to do is unleash our native curiosity about the world in which we live.
